CPSC recall 23-068, announced December 15, 2022, covers Jacuzzi® Hot Tubs and Sundance® Spas (about 23,700 units). The temperature sensor can relay incorrect water temperatures and cause the water to be hotter than the set temperature, posing injury (heat stroke) and thermal burn hazards. The notice cites 185 incident reports. Consumers should use an accurate external thermometer to confirm the water temperature to be no higher than 104 degrees prior to entering the hot tub to prevent injuries and burns. Recall contact: go to www.sundancespas.com/en-us/recall.html, or email TempSensor@jacuzzi.com.
Compare the model on your label, then check any serial numbers, date codes, and exclusions in the notice. A model match alone does not confirm that your unit is included.
The CPSC data does not provide a discrete model-number list for this record. Compare the product description and identification details on the official notice.
The model number and serial number are engraved into a silver plate in the equipment bay of the hot tub.
