CPSC published a recall notice for Corningware 4-Quart Slow Cookers from Select Brands Inc. on August 5, 2004. CPSC identifies this hazard: The heating element can drop to the bottom of the unit and melt through the plastic outer shell, posing burn and fire hazards.
