CPSC published a recall notice for Certain "Packaged Gas Electric" heating and cooling units, or "Gas-Packs" from International Comfort Products LLC on October 19, 2005. CPSC identifies this hazard: The unit's control board can ignite and, in certain units, can result in the ignition of flammable material adjacent to the unit. The official remedy states: Consumers with recalled units will receive a free replacement control board and capacitor installed.
