Cuisinart Food Processors Recalled by Conair Due to Laceration Hazard

CPSC published a recall notice for Cuisinart® food processors from Cuisinart® on December 13, 2016. CPSC identifies this hazard: The food processor's riveted blade can crack over time and small metal pieces of the blade can break off into the processed food. This poses a laceration hazard to consumers. The official remedy states: Consumers should immediately stop using the food processor's riveted blade and contact Cuisinart for a free replacement blade.

Why it was recalled

The food processor's riveted blade can crack over time and small metal pieces of the blade can break off into the processed food. This poses a laceration hazard to consumers.

Incidents and injuries

Conair has received 69 reports of consumers finding broken pieces of the blade in processed food, including 30 reports of mouth lacerations or tooth injuries.

Official remedy

Consumers should immediately stop using the food processor's riveted blade and contact Cuisinart for a free replacement blade.
