CPSC, Snapper, Inc. Announce Recall of Riding Lawn Mowers

CPSC published a recall notice for Riding Lawn Mowers from Riding Lawn on October 16, 2002. CPSC identifies this hazard: The side discharge chute is defective. The material used to manufacture the side discharge chute is not strong enough to prevent projectiles from flying out from under the mower deck, exposing consumers and by-standers to possible injuries from flying debris. The official remedy states: Consumers should stop using their lawn mowers until the discharge chute has been replaced. Contact a Snapper dealer immediately for a free replacement.
