CPSC, BSH Home Appliances Corp. Announce Recall of Thermador Gas Ranges

CPSC published a recall notice for Thermador All-Gas Professional Ranges from Thermador All-Gas Professional on February 4, 2002. CPSC identifies this hazard: Hot air is vented below the small oven and causes the metal surface on the door of this oven to get too hot, presenting a burn hazard to consumers. Incidents and injuries

BSH has received one report of high temperatures on the surface of one of the ranges. No injuries have been reported.

Hazard: The oven door may not lock properly when the oven is put into the "self clean" mode. While the oven is in "self clean" mode, intense heat is generated to clean the oven. If oxygen is introduced by opening the oven door during the "self clean" mode, combustible material left inside can ignite and pose a fire risk.
