CPSC published a recall notice for Chainsaws from Homelite Consumer Products, Inc. on May 8, 2003. CPSC identifies this hazard: These saws can operate while the engine is at the "idle" setting, posing a risk of serious lacerations to the operator and bystanders. The official remedy states: Contact Homelite to find the nearest Homelite-authorized service center for a free throttle adjustment. The stores where these chainsaws were purchased do not provide this service.
